ABOUT ME

 

I am Candy and yes, it is my real name. I was born in Surabaya, Indonesia and currently living my last couple of months in Wellington, New Zealand. I grew up in a house where everyone: my grandma, my dad, my mom, my sisters and even my little brothers cook or bake, except me (unless, making omelet and instant noodle count).

Until when I was sixteen, I joined a hospitality competition with my three other friends, just so I could skip those classes at school. That competition made us to be in the kitchen and it was the first time I let myself dealing with chopping board and how the hell should I use a knife. Who knew that we became the runner up, like, what?!?! Oh well, from there, I started to have a dream to own a pastry shop, it’s just kinda fun and I love desserts too much. Fair enough, right? Then, three years ago, I came to New Zealand to study at Le Cordon Bleu. During my study, I worked in couple of places as a pastry chef. I cannot lie to myself how I am deeply falling in love with desserts. From the beginning when I imagine it in my head and my palate, try and modify the recipes, trial and error, until it is done, I eat the most of it and give the ¼ to my mates haha..

This blog is a tool for me to share my passion. I share pictures, thoughts and recipes. I love to make things look a bit fancier that they should be, but not ignoring the taste, obviously!  Give the recipes a try and let me know how you love it! Hope you love this blog as much as I do..
